At first, “Ave Maria” was composed as a single piece, and premiered by Choir Komoro Harmony on September, 2013, conducted by Yuta Mori. In addtion to Ave Maria, “Ave Regina coelorum” and “Salve Regina” were added to make a series and premiered by Koshigaya Vocal Ensemble, conducted by Kazunobu Kurokawa, at 45th Koshigaya Citizen Culture Festival, Chorus category on November 23, 2013.
Text is based on liturgy that praises Maria, composed by various composers around the world and sung in all over the world. Unique enough that all pieces are in three-part mixed chorus a cappella, featuring sweet melodies and harmonies, even a small group of choirs can sing and enjoy the tune, since they are composed to produce rich harmony even with minimum three voices.
Total length of performance shall be seven and a half minutes, can be sung at competitions or festivals. Separate sheet music also available through publisher.
Male chorus version (premiered in August 2013) and female chorus version (will be premiered in October 2014) will also be published in the near future.
