Anthology of old British songs

Six very melodic folk songs from Scotland, Ireland and England have been arranged by  Yuta Miyake, one of the promising young composer in Japan.

Songs such as “Auld Lang Syne”, “The water is wide” are sung, sometimes in Jazzy style, sometimes as ballade. Sounds and lyrics are very much synchronized and very impressive as well.

Since the group commissioned was a small ensemble group (nine singers), basically with two voices, soprano and alto, sometimes divided into more voices, so small choir can choose as their repertoire.

The piece was commissioned by Chœur Brillant and premiered in November 26, 2016.
