Megumi Ohnaka

Having church organist and choral conductor, Toraji Ohnaka as father, Megumi Ohnaka studied at Tokyo Music School (now Tokyo University of Arts) for compsing. While studying, he had to go to war as a student soldier. In 1970, he was awarded with excellence for Art Festival in Japan with “Shimayo” (Oh islands).

Not only composing, he has long been directed his choir “Chor Meg”, which performed only Ohnaka’s pieces. The choir participated many activities, such as various concerts and recording sessions. Famous Compser “Tokuhide Niimi” also used to be a member of that choir. Now he continues to direct “Meg Meg Choir” that consists of former members of Chor Meg.
